Ground "Beef"


Prep time:                  7 minutes

Cooking time:           5 minutes

Yields:                              6 people



1 package pressed extra firm tofu (Nasoya 14 oz)
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper

1 tbsp mushroom powder (dried shiitakes)

1 1/2 tbsp soy or tamari

1 tsp date sugar
1/4 cup low-sodium vegetable broth



Add all items to a bowl. Using two forks break apart tofu into chunks. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ingredients and cook until moisture is absorbed, aprox 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Use in lasagna or add as a base for tacos.
